Singapore Nightlife: Where to Go at Night

singapore nightlife

Nightlife in Singapore is something that is often overlooked by tourists. After busy sightseeing days and amazing food, it’s understandable that you may just want to rest at night.

However, Singapore comes to life by night, and you must experience Singapore’s nightlife at least once on your trip. It can be pricey to head out at night here, but some of the bars and clubs will give you a once-in-a-lifetime night out!

For a better experience, you should check the best time to visit Singapore.

It’s important to note that Singapore does have strict alcohol laws. This means you may find the nightlife to be much tamer than Thailand or other South-East Asian countries!

Make sure you double-check the dress code for venues, as most clubs will ask for smart-casual attire. Today I’m going to share with you some of my top tips and experiences to enjoy Singapore at night to help you plan your next visit!

Also, Singapore is one of the top destinations from Southeast Asia where single guys get laid.

Clarke Quay

If you’re looking for things to do on a Friday night in Singapore, look no further than Clarke
Quay. This is without a doubt Singapore’s best party destination and contains some of the best clubs in Singapore.

If you’re looking for a club, I’d recommend Zouk, which is one of the most popular clubs in the area. It can host up to 1500 people. Zouk can be a little pricey to enter but will give you an unforgettable night out.

It has hosted DJs including David Guetta and Tiesto in the past. This converted warehouse contains three interconnected clubs, so you can jump around and enjoy a variety of music in one night.

If you are looking for something a bit more relaxed, check out live music at Crazy Elephant. This is also an entertaining area to walk around, with thrill rides, adventure sports venues, and waterside dining.

Marina Bay

Even if you aren’t looking for a night out, don’t miss the chance to see the famous Marina Bay Sands lit up by night.

Every night you can see the light show here at 8 pm or 9:30 pm, with an additional 11 pm showing on Friday and Saturday nights. This is a quieter area for nightlife in Singapore but still has some great bars and clubs.

I’d recommend heading to a rooftop bar in this area to enjoy the spectacular views.

1 Altitude Bar offers amazing views of the city from over 60 floors high.

Another rooftop bar, although it’s quite a pricey option, is KU DE TA at Marina Bay Sands.

If you are looking to go clubbing afterward, Club Kyo is very popular.

If you enjoy craft beer, check out KU DE TA, which is the highest craft brewery in the whole world!

Sentosa Beach

If you are looking to party all day and night, I suggest you head to the beach bars on Sentosa Island. The parties here kick off in the mid-afternoon and run until late at night.

My top two recommendations for this area are the Azzura Beach Club and Tanjong Beach Club. Otherwise, enjoy a relaxed drink on this amazing beach in Singapore.

Chinatown

For a more chilling evening out in Singapore, check out Chinatown, which offers bars along its streets. Start by enjoying a delicious meal in the area, and then head to a drinking spot.

As with anywhere in Singapore, make sure you book ahead, as bars and clubs can get very crowded at weekends. A trendy spot in Chinatown is the Gem Bar and Lounge.

Alternatively, the Screening Room has a daily drinks menu to match the movies playing that night!

Orchard Road

You may visit this area in the daytime for its amazing malls and shopping, but it’s becoming a popular venue for Singapore nightclubs. After dark, tourists and locals head to the bars, lounges, and clubs here.

If you are traveling on a budget, check out Alley Bar. For a more luxurious experience, the Marriott Hotel’s Bar None or the Grand Hyatt’s Brix are my top choices.

Holland Village

Populated by locals and ex-pats, Holland Village comes to life at night, with many pubs in the area. Harry’s, one of a chain of pubs, offers reasonable beer prices.

Hacienda is a great option for cocktails, which are made from fresh fruit and offer organic food on the side.

Nearby you can visit Dempsey Hill, which has an old-fashioned charm to it, and many clubs and bars.

Other Unique Night-time offerings

Nightlife in Singapore isn’t just about drinking and clubbing. There are some really unique offerings here for nighttime activities. These can allow you to see some of the tourist attractions from a different perspective:

  • Gardens by the Bay. While this park is spectacular to visit at any time, it comes to life at night with illuminations. The park and trees become illuminated and take on a futuristic look. The show begins at 8 pm each night and it’s free unless you want to walk on the Skywalk during that time.
  • Holey Moley. This indoor mini-golf club at Clark Quay allows you to play, drink and eat at the same time. An enjoyable alternative for an evening out with friends.
  • The Projector. If you are looking for a chilled night out, check out this indie cinema at the Golden Theatre. They have special themed nights here, and reservations are highly recommended.
  • K-Bowling. This is not just any bowling alley! K-Bowling offers space-themed bowling, with neon lighting and club tunes. The venue also offers an arcade and private karaoke machines.
  • Night Safari at Singapore Zoo. The Night Safari is one of Singapore’s most popular tourist attractions. It was the first nocturnal zoo in the world, and you will get to witness up to 900 animals. Also, enjoy dining and live animal shows during your visit. Perfect evening activity for all the family.

I hope this list has helped you find inspiration for your next night out in Singapore. The city and its incredible architecture come to life at night, and there are many great clubs and bars in each area.

Don’t miss the Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay light shows – they really are spectacular. Whatever you choose to do, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed by Singapore’s nightlife!
