Calayo is a cheap beach resort in Nasugbu, Batangas perfect for a budget holiday and relaxing stay.
It is 70 km away from Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport and you can get here by either renting out a car or an airport shuttle by request.
It is an affordable beach resort in Batangas and conveniently located close to the city center. Calayo Beach Resort provides excellent accessibility to some of the famous landmarks to visit.
This includes Mt. Cayluya, Papaya Cove, and the city center. Some of the beaches nearby include Secret Beach, Sunset Beach, Marina Beach, and Tali Beach for a casual sunbathe session or a splash in the salty waters.
At Calayo Beach Resort, me and my other two friends appreciated the variety of amenities offered to ensure a comfortable stay, including multilingual staff, health and safety protocols, a bar, a coffee shop, complimentary breakfast with a selection of American, Asian, and Continental cuisine, family rooms, and pet-friendly accommodations for our furry friends.
The resort also highlights a kitchen (for you to stir up some homemade delights), BBQ facilities for a fun steak night, two swimming pools, and various outdoor activities to choose from.
If you love outdoor activities then you can easily ask at reception for snorkeling, boating, fishing, horseback riding, and snorkeling.

For some natural landscapes, you can take a tour of Taal Volcano and Twin Lakes. Aside from its private beach, the hotel is also placed close to Lemery Beach (480 m) for fresher surroundings.
The hotel has quite a handful of facilities you can enjoy, including BBQ facilities for steak night, sun terraces, a fitness center to keep you in shape, a spa and a wellness center, and a full body massage to soothe all your stress away.
It is also a great place to stay if you want to experience the Sublian Festival.
Villa MJ Maristela Resort features snorkeling for marine life and action, karaoke to sing the night away, and an all-age-welcome swimming pool.

Crusoe Cabins Casobe
Another great private beach resort in Calatagan, Batangas is located 73 km away from Calapan City Airport. You will need to rent out a car at the airport, but rest assured, free parking will be provided.
Fortunately, Crusoe Cabins Casobe is close by to various landmarks such as Casa Astillero, and the Basilica of St. Martin de Tours. You can also book a tour to Aquaria Water Park, which is just next to the resort.
When it comes to beaches, there are plenty! You can check out Burot Beach, Matabungkay Beach, and Perez Beach.
The property provides some of the best facilities for a pleasant stay, such as 3 on-site restaurants (The Sands, Rib Shack, and Tazza Mia) with local, American, and International cuisine to choose from, an outdoor swimming pool to cool off from the sun’s heat, and a garden.
Crusoe Cabins Casobe features wellness activities such as a foot bath, a water slide, an open-air bath, and sun loungers to get that strong tan game going!

Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort
The Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort is a beachfront accommodation in Barangay San Jose, Mabini. It is about 84 km from Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
One drawback we encountered is that transportation to the resort requires a private shuttle, which can be arranged through the airport or the property (with additional charges possibly applicable).
For some natural scenery and trekking, you can check out Mount Gulugod Baboy Trail that’s only 4.3 km from the resort.
To taste some of Philipino cuisine nearby, you can check out Johanna’s Grille and the OMG! Olvida & Myra’s Grill, and maybe end the day with a drink or two at Frido’s bar.
Aside from the property’s private beach, you can also check out Anilao Beach and Ligaya Beach, which are only a short drive away.
The Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort in Batangas offers plenty of facilities, including a restaurant, a bar, a picnic area, a private beach area, and family rooms.
The resort highlights its activities such as hiking, windsurfing, diving, snorkeling, and water sports on-site.
If you’re more of a staycation person visiting Batangas, the resort provides a massage and an open-air bath to relax and unwind from those countless office hours.

Aside from the property’s private beach, you can also check out Majuben Beach and Dive and Dine Anilao, just a few kilometers away.

Virgin Beach Resort Laiya, San Juan, Batangas, is situated in KM 23, Laiya Road, and is a 33.4 km car ride from Calapan City Airport.

You can either use a private shuttle or rent a car at the airport with parking free of charge when you arrive on-site.
To explore the neighborhood, some recommended landmarks are Pillar Rock, Kawayan Cove, Nasugbo Town Proper, and Plaza de Roxas, all just within 3 km away from the property.

What makes a great stay comes from the facilities offered, and this resort defines precisely that.
During our stay, we indulged in the resort’s spa and massage services, savored delectable dishes at the on-site restaurant, and enjoyed refreshing drinks at both the bar and the poolside bar.
It was comforting to know that the resort had implemented proper health and safety protocols, and the family room provided the perfect space for quality time with my friends.

It is only a 55 km trip by either car or airport transfer shuttle from Calapan City Airport.
Not only is the resort in close contact with nature, but it is also conveniently placed near plenty of landmarks such as Taal Heritage Village, Twin Lakes, Taal Volcano, Cockpit Arena, and Playa Laiya (you may want to have a car ready to go for these destinations).
The property’s closest beaches you can find are Burot Beach and Matabungkay Beach (about 40 km away).

How to Get to Batangas from Manila
There are three different modes of transport you can use to get to Batangas from Manila. Taking a bus is highly recommended, especially when you’re on a budget, costing you $4 to $7.
First, take the Recto LRT (Lrt 2) and stop at Cubao LRT, walk 590 meters to the Manila Cubao Jam Liner (buses leave every 30 minutes) and wait until you arrive at Batangas Grand Terminal. The total trip duration will be 3 hours and 40 minutes.
Another alternative would be renting out a car at the airport. It should only take you 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to Batangas from Manila.
Last but not least is by taxi but may cost $40 to $50. Though it may be more expensive, having someone drive you to where you need to be after long flight hours isn’t a bad bargain.

Laiya Beach
Laiya Beach is located in San Juan, Batangas, and is one of the top-ranked beaches for tourists. This white beach in Batangas is blanketed with pristine blue waters, and has a handful of water sports activities!
